F-Zero GX National Championship OFFICIAL SWEEPSTAKES RULES
  1. Eligibility
    NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. F-Zero GX Championship open only to residents of Canada. To be eligible to win a prize, entries must be completed and received by Nintendo of Canada Ltd. (NOCL) in the format designated below. Directors, officers and employees of NOCL and any of their respective affiliate companies, subsidiaries, agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, and immediate families of each are not eligible to win any prizes. All applicable federal, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Offer void where prohibited.
  2. Disclaimer
    NOCL, all participating sponsors and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, professional advisors, employees and agencies will not be responsible for: (a) any late, lost, misrouted, or damaged F-Zero recorded scores; (b) any telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any Championship disruptions, injuries, losses, or damages caused by events beyond the control of NOCL; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Championship.
  3. Championship Period
    The F-Zero GX Championship starts August 23, 2003 and ends September 1, 2003. All contestants must have completed F-Zero GX play by end of working day at designated Championship location September 1, 2003.
  4. Prizes
    Grand Prize:
    The top fastest raced circuit overall in Canada will receive:
    One (1) x 32" Panasonic PanaBlack Picture Tube TV (MSRP $899.99)
    One (1) x Nintendo GameCube system, Lmtd Edition Platinum (MSRP $199.95)
    One (1) x Game Boy Advance SP, Onyx (MSRP $149.95)


    Secondary Prize(s):
    The top fastest time in each region (Vancouver, Montreal, and Ontario) will receive one(1) of three (3) prize packs to be won. Prize Packs contain:
    One (1) x Panasonic Portable CD/MP3 Player (MSRP $139.95)
    One (1) x Panasonic Shockwave VMSS Neckband Headphone (MSRP $49.99)


    Third Prize:
    The top ten (10) fastest times in each region (Vancouver, Montreal and Ontario) will each receive:
    One (1) F-Zero GX game for Nintendo GameCube (MSRP $69.99)
  5. Odds of Winning
    Dependent solely on number of eligible contestant scores received throughout Championship period. If you are selected as a winner and you are under the legal age of majority in your province of residence (a "Minor"), one of your parents or guardians must submit a signed, written statement that they have read, understood and agree to the Championship rules on behalf of you and themselves. Any prizes won by a Minor will be awarded to the Minor's parent or legal guardian on the Minor's behalf.
    All prizes will be awarded. Prizes returned as undeliverable or otherwise not claimed within 5 days after delivery of notification will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash) of any prizes will be permitted, except that NOCL reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize. Limit one prize per household or address. All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
  6. How to Enter
    Contestants can play the F-Zero GX game at any official location on a predetermined course trying to receive the fastest race time. All official scores will be recorded at official Championship locations by designated Championship staff only. Locations and race course(s)are determined prior to the opening of the F-Zero GX Championship. Dates/times/locations may change and are updated daily at www.nintendo.ca. Contestants must check the official F-Zero GX National Championship website to ensure locations are still applicable for contest play. Contestants can view official locations at www.nintendo.ca.

  7. Sweepstakes Rules
    Prize winners are solely determined by their F-Zero GX championship racing times or scores. All scores are recorded on a common F-Zero GX racetrack predetermined at the beginning of the Championship. Scores are recorded by official event staff and sent electronically to: Nintendo of Canada Ltd.(NOCL) #110-13480 Crestwood Place. Richmond BC V6V 2J9. Only the Top 10 scores in each event region will be posted to www.nintendo.ca. Scores will be updated daily which may change out currently posted scores. The Top 10 overall scores in Canada are determined by the entire entrants combined from all 3 regions. Championship scores will be updated daily on www.nintendo.ca. Due to schedules and timing of each event, a top recorded score may not be posted until upwards of 24 hours after the score time was recorded. The time of day the scores are posted solely depends on when the racing scores are received at NOCL. Scores posted are based solely on the random amount of Championship events that take place throughout the period of the Championship.
  8. General Release
    By entering the Championship, you (and, if you are a Minor, your parents or legal guardians) release NOCL, participating sponsors, and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agencies (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes or delivery or misdelivery, acceptance, possession, use of or inability to use any prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
  9. Use of Winner's Name, Likeness, etc
    Except where prohibited by law, entry into the Championship constitutes permission to use winner's name, address, likeness and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. As a condition of being awarded any prize, except where prohibited by law, winners may be required to execute a consent to the use of their name, address, likeness and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation.
  10. Miscellaneous
    Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time, in its sole discretion, and to suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes or any entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor's control affect the administration, security or proper play of the Sweepstakes or Sponsor otherwise becomes (as determined in its sole discretion) incapable of running the Sweepstakes as planned. Entrants who violate these Official Rules, tamper with the operation of the Sweepstakes or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Sponsor, the Sweepstakes or any other entrant (in each case as determined in Sponsor's sole discretion) are subject to disqualifications from entry into the Sweepstakes.
